Geir Bergheim COO and founder of Genus

Geir Bergheim

Geir  Bergheim is the Chief Product Officer (CPO) and Chief Operating Officer (COO) at Genus, where he leads the company's product strategy. At the age of 32, Geir founded Genus, inspired by a theory he developed in the late 1980s. Under his leadership, Genus has transformed from a startup with a vision into a thriving company with a cutting-edge no-code development platform.

Before founding Genus in 1995, Geir was a manager at Andersen Consulting (now Accenture). He led the team that developed the Norwegian Police Operations Support System for the 1994 Winter Olympics in Lillehammer, integrating several concepts from his theory. This system received top honors at the Computerworld Smithsonian Awards Program in Washington, D.C., in 1995.

Geir holds a master’s degree in Computer Science from the Norwegian University of Science and Technology (NTNU) in Trondheim.

“Genus is all about sustainable software in a rapidly changing world. Software must be flexible enough to absorb changes in how we do business, and it must keep pace with the technological evolution. At the same time, software must be built fast enough to be relevant and realize the value it is intended to deliver. I am proud to lead a company with so many talented employees, and together we will continue to innovate and challenge the status quo in our pursuit of better business software.”
